B.S. in Pastry Arts Candidate, Graduating July 2019

Mercy Tolbert realized she had a passion for baking when she was about 15 years old and later decided to pursue an education at Walnut Hill College. Her passion for being in the kitchen came from watching the Food Network with her grandfather and baking cookies with her mother at a young age. While obtaining her A.S. in Pastry Arts, she found that there was so much more to pastry arts than what meets the eye. Before graduating with her associate degree in March 2018, Mercy chose to stay for her bachelor’s degree to learn even more. She loves to learn new things from her chefs and instructors and to share what she’s learned with her peers. Mercy is a strong believer in “doing what you love so you never have to work a day in your life.” Following this motto, she hopes to be a successful pastry chef, using all that she’s learned at Walnut Hill College plus more. Mercy is expected to graduate with her B.S. in Pastry Arts in July 2019.
