Dorm life is elevated to the status of Residential Learning at Walnut Hill College.

That’s because residential life on campus is an interactive living and learning experience. Our Student Life staff members are always on hand to assist students with questions and concerns.

Our residence halls far exceed the expectations of typical college dormitories. Our charming Victorian mansions offer dramatic architectural features such as fireplaces and bay windows that overlook quiet, tree-lined streets. Upperclassmen housing is equipped with fabulous kitchens, stylish furniture, and high-tech amenities, including bedrooms with TVs and DVD players. Students at Walnut Hill College consider our campus a home away from home.

Incoming freshmen choose from several residence halls, including Bachler Hall, College House, 100 South, and Perrier Hall, all of which are conveniently located next to our main campus. Upperclassmen have the opportunity to choose from Hunter Hall, which has modern, apartment-style rooms, and Esther McManus Hall, which features spectacular suites.

Bachler Hall

4220 Walnut Street

Bachler Hall is a supervised student residence in a charming brick townhouse directly across the street from campus. This historic building is named in honor of Hans Bachler, one of the founders of the College and a noted maître d’ in fine restaurants and hotels in Austria, Switzerland, Italy, England, and the United States. Bachler Hall has a limestone façade and features many of the historic and architectural details that distinguish buildings from the turn of the century. It offers an excellent view of both Walnut Hill College and St. Mark’s Square, a quaint street lined with flagstone sidewalks, trees, and historic houses.

Perrier Hall

4233 Walnut Street

Perrier Hall is a turn-of-the-century, Victorian-style brick townhouse. It is named in honor of Georges Perrier, the world-renowned chef/owner of Le Bec-Fin, once rated the number one restaurant in the United States by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine. Perrier Hall features beautifully hand-carved mahogany woodwork, high ceilings, and unique architectural details. The historic building has been renovated and redecorated with beautiful furnishings.

College House

4235 Walnut Street

Adjacent to Perrier Hall, College House features various bedroom arrangements with stylish furnishings. Double, triple, and quad occupancy are available. There is an on-site laundry room as well as a snack center with a microwave and refrigerator for students to utilize. Walnut Hill College’s Business Office is located on the first level.

Hunter Hall

4231 WALNUT STREET

Hunter Hall is a brick townhouse located on campus. This fully furnished student residence features comfortable suites that come in a variety of sizes. A charming building with mahogany woodwork and floor-to-ceiling mirrors, Hunter Hall is named in honor of Tom Hunter, a noted chef and co-founder of The Restaurant School.

Esther McManus Hall

4222 Walnut Street

Named after one of our most beloved chef instructors, Esther McManus Hall features furnished suites that create smaller, more independent communal living units. All bedrooms are double occupancy. The suites vary in size and incorporate one, two, or three bedrooms. Each suite has its own kitchen and living room.

Upperclass Housing

The College provides housing for upperclassmen in leased apartment buildings located within a block of campus. These buildings feature beautiful, completely renovated apartments.
